Considering she will face difficulties with her allies in Congress during her second term, President Dilma Rousseff (PT) asked the lawmakers for help to approve projects that will benefit the society.

"I ask the gentlemen and the ladies in the parliament that we hold hands for Brazil, because most of the changes people demand must start here, at the people's big house", she said.

The public request was made during her inauguration speech in the Chamber of Deputies. The President was inducted by the President of the Congress, Senator Renan Calheiros (PMDB-AL).

During her inauguration speech in the Chamber of Deputies, President Rousseff announced the slogan "Brazil: Country of Education" as the new motto of her second term. She said it is "simple, straightforward and mobilizer".

The President stated education will be the "priority of priorities" and to succeed, she will gather efforts from all areas of the government.

"Education will be the priority of priorities. Only education frees the people. [...] Only education frees a people and opens the door in the near future", she said.

Rousseff said education will have more funding available from the royalties on oil and resources from pre-salt.

Pronatec, one of the projects the President mentioned the most was once again remembered.

Rousseff promised to provide 12 million vacancies for young people seeking their first job and said she will give "particular attention" to Pronatec Young Apprentice, which will allow micro and small companies to hire a young person.
