After a talk with Bradesco president Luiz Carlos Trabuco on Wednesday (2) in Brasília, President Dilma Rousseff led an internal orientation with her closest staff to make clear that her administration is going to pursue the 0.7 % surplus in the GNP (Gross National Product) in the next year.

"Levy knows the importance of the work he has to do for the seventh economy of the world", said Mercadante.

On Monday (31), the administration sent Congress a proposal for the 2016 budget with a primary deficit forecast of 05.% of the GDP. On Thursday (3) morning, President Dilma addressed the issue with her closest aides and reinforced the approach that in interviews they should highlight how the government will study measures in order to achieve the fiscal goal of 0.7% in 2016.

In the evening, the President met with ministers Joaquim Levy (Finance), Nelson Barbosa (Planning) and Aloizio Mercadante (Civil House). The purpose of the meeting was to promote internal unity around the head of the economic team in order to avoid his departure from office for lack of support.

At the end of the meeting, as advised by the president, the head of the Civil House granted a news conference with journalists at the Palácio do Planalto in order to, according to aides, "reassure the market", after the minister himself complained behind the scenes about lack of internal support.
