The demonstration against the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff was attended by 40,000 people in the city center of São Paulo on Thursday evening, March 31, shows Datafolha figures.
The event took place at Praça da Sé and was promoted by labor union centers and social movements. Two weeks ago, 95,000 people had held a demonstration against the impeachment on Paulista avenue.
Although Thursday's event had fewer people, it was one of the biggest demonstrations against the impeachment since Rousseff's supporters began to take to the streets in 2015.
In December 2015, 55,000 people occupied Paulista avenue to protest against the impeachment. On March 13, 2013, the first major pro-Rousseff demonstration was attended by 41,000 people on Paulista avenue.
The peak of Thursday's demonstration occurred at 7:00 pm, when 30,000 people occupied the region of Praça da Sé. Datafolha also says that 3,000 people attended the event from the beginning to its end.
