FROM CURITIBA
It would have been an unexceptional hiring process for a position of intern.
But the name of the individual in charge of the selection, right on the first line of the call notification, drew attention: "His Excellent Sir, Doctor Sergio Fernando Moro".
Open since the beginning of the month, the hiring process for intern for the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba, where the Lava Jato (Car Wash) Operation proceedings are being held has received 286 applications from many different states.
This amount of interest was unusual: on average, there are typically 70 candidate applications. The intern position is open every year. The difference this year is that Moro's name was listed in the call notice, not the substitute Judge's - which increased demand. The application process which closed last week was free.
Whoever is chosen for the only spot will compose minutes of orders and judgments, in addition to updating the electronic record (the famous 'e-proc') of the most buzzed about anti-corruption case in the country, among other activities.
The monthly stipend is R$833 (US$ 256) for four hours work per day plus a transportation voucher. The name of the candidate chosen will only be known on the 7th of November.
