Nearly two weeks ago model Madelayne Cavalcanti, 29, caused much turmoil among the elite of the south zone of Recife, in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco.

On March 27, Santa Maria, one of the most traditional schools in the city, sent a note to the students' parents in which it stated that is was important for those responsible for taking and picking up the children at school not to wear scanty or extravagant clothes, and garments with less cleavage.

The children's parents say that Madelayne was the target of the note, whose content was considered abuse of right in a complaint sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Pernambuco.
Madelayne is a model as well as a gymnastics teacher and the muse of the local soccer team, Santa Cruz.

She has posed nude for Sexy magazine. Her six-year-old daughter is a student in the first year of elementary school, which costs R$ 1,200 per month (US$ 480).

Madelayne picks up her daughter with the clothes she normally wears in her daily errands in the hot city of Recife. Sometimes she wears gym clothes, other times she wears jeans shorts, nothing unusual. Some mothers wear even scantier clothes.

Mothers heard by Folha confirm Madelayne's version.

She says that, on the same day, she was called by the school principal and was warned that the school facilities were a family environment.

Folha contacted the school which said that it had sent a note "sharing with the parents the values upon which our education activities are based. We regret if somebody misinterpreted the message."
