DO RIO DE JANEIRO
.N. security denied access to Folha journalist Fernando Rodrigues, at pavilion 5 in the Riocentro convention center, site of the plenary sessions with the heads of the delegations of the countries that participated in Rio+20.
When Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was walking from one event to another, Rodrigues questioned her from afar about the position of the United States on the political crisis in Paraguay. She responded that she was following the situation.
At that point, he was pushed by U.S. and U.N. security forces to keep him from asking more questions. Later, U.N. officials prohibited him from entering pavilion 5. According to the United Nations, Hillary's security team asked that he not be allowed in. The American consulate denied having made such a request.
The National Newspaper Association condemned the move as "discriminatory attitude."
