A news team from TV Tribuna, a channel affiliated with Globo, was mugged on Tuesday (28) during a live report in Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo state.
Reporter Tatyana Jorge was interviewing the city's health vigilance director, Marco Antônio Chagas, in the city hall car park, when a man approached her on a bicycle.
As well as Jorge and Chagas, Alfredo Neto, a cameraman, and an assistant, known as Carlão, were also at the scene. "They took the cameraman's phone, as well as a phone, a gold bracelet and a watch from the interviewee," said Jorge.
"I heard a noise behind me, but we were recording live so I didn't turn round straight away. When I did, the gun was pointing at my head. Then he made me lower my head. It all happened very quickly," she said.
The report, which was due to be broadcast on the "Jornal Tribuna 1ª Edição", was about the increase in dengue cases in the city.
