CBF President Jose Maria Marin will ask for Real Garcilaso's removal from the Libertadores due to racism.

The document will be sent to the president of Conmebol, the South American Confederation of Soccer, to Uruguayan Eugenio Figueredo, and the Disciplinary Tribunal of the entity.

Supporters of the Peruvian club on Wednesday made gestures and imitated monkey sounds every time Cruzeiro player Tinga touched the ball. The player started the match on the bench and came on after 20 minutes in the second half.

Marin sent the court a request to exclude the team from competition or lose points earned in the game. Peruvian beat Cruzeiro 2-1 in Huancayo Stadium, 300 km from Lima, by the group 5 from the continental tournament.

"It's time to exterminate demonstrations of racism. If the club is punished in an exemplarily manner, Conmebol will get worldwide recognition for the achievement," Marin stated about the request.

The president of the CBF is not the only one presurring the South American organization to punish Real Garcilaso figure. Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff and Peruvian President Ollanta Humala have publicly condemned the behavior of fans.

The President of the Disciplinary Court of Conmebol, which will judge the Garcilaso case if a complaint is filed, admitted that the case has received political bias.

"With all this political weight, the case gets special attention. It will not change the outcome of the judgement, but the degree of concern will be higher than normal," said Caio César Rocha Vieira, who, because he's Brazilian (the country of one of the teams involved), may not participate in the trial.

FIFA's code on racism provides for penalties ranging from fines and games played behind closed gates to exclusion from competition, as called for by the CBF.

As the Folha proved yesterday, FIFA's direction for the confederations is to punish racial discrimination involving fans at a progressive scale. At first, in the case of the Peruvian team, the more appropriate punishment would be a fine and games played in front of an empty stadium.

Therefore, harsher penalties would only be imposed in cases of repeat offenders of racist acts.
