Four months after the end of the World Cup, Brazil has a new football stadium starting this Wednesday (19).
After four years of construction and two-year delay, Palmeiras, a football club from São Paulo inaugurates its stadium with a match against Sport at 10pm.
The Allianz Park is one of the new modern arenas in the country.
All 39,000 tickets were sold in advance.
The stadium's capacity is 43.6 thousand seats, but the police did not allow them to be sold. They were concerned about blind spots that could compromise safety.
Within 30 years, the official owner of the stadium will be the construction company WTorre, which invested R$ 660 million (US$ 256 million) to modernize the old Palestra Itália arena in exchange for its commercial use.
Part of the revenue is shared with Palmeiras that will only receive 100% of the revenue from the games.
The Allianz Park was also designed to host big performances. Paul McCartney will be the first, performing two nights next week.
