Striker Neymar scored this Sunday (15) for Barcelona and helped the team reach a score of 5-0 over Levante during the Spanish Championship.
He reached 39 goals for the team, which also means he tied Romário and surpassed Diego Maradona while wearing the Catalan team's shirt.
The Brazilian now has one more goal than the Argentine star, who defended Barcelona from 1982 to 1984.
Romário, world champion with the Brazilian national team in 1994, was in Catalonia from 1993 to 1995.
Neymar's next goal is to catch up to another Brazilian, Ronaldo, who scored 47 times for the same team from 1996 to 1997.
Neymar's goals helped consolidate his situation in Barcelona. Last season, his star status was questioned because Argentine Lionel Messi is still the fan favorite.
With the goal against Levante, Neymar reached 17th place on the Spanish Championship scorers board this season.
"I'm working really well with Messi and Suárez. They are two geniuses," praised the Brazilian.
