Dunga is no longer the Brazilian national team's coach. He was fired on Tuesday (14) during a meeting with the president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF, in its Portuguese acronym), Marco Polo Del Nero.
Corinthians' coach, Tite, will be called to replace Dunga. In addition to Dunga, CBF fired the entire coaching staff, including teams coordinator, Gilmar Rinaldi.
Hired after the World Cup in 2014, when Brazil lost 7-1 to Germany in the semifinals, Dunga began his second stint as coach with a victory. Brazil beat Colombia by 1-0 in September that year
The result was an indication of what would be the technical performance in friendly matches. With Dunga, the team won all of them.
In competition matches, such as qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup, Copa America 2015 and Copa America Centenario, the performance was quite different: 54%, the worst win percentage since Leão coached the national team in 2001.
With Dunga, Brazil ranked sixth in the qualifiers, outside the qualification zone for the 2018 World Cup, and went down in the quarterfinals of the Copa America 2015. This week, the team managed to deliver a worse performance, going down in the first phase of Copa America Centenario after being defeated 1-0 by Peru
In his second stint as Brazil's coach, Dunga has changed the team often, relied on the 7-1 generation and afterwards took out the players marked by the 2014 World Cup games - such as David Luiz, Marcelo and Thiago Silva.
