New Poll Shows Bolsonaro with 39%, against Haddad's 25%
The survey shows both candidates tie in the second round; voters' rejection of both is still high
With only three days for the general elections' first round, Jair Bolsonaro (PSL) grew his advantage over his opponents, according to the latest Datafolha poll. Currently, he has 39% of valid votes, a number that excludes blank and null ballots, as well as still undecided voters.
Bolsonaro is 11 percentage points away from winning the presidential bid without the need of a second round. Fernando Haddad (PT) still holds the second place, with 25% of valid votes.
Considering all ballots, Bolsonaro is the only candidate with an upward trend. He climbed seven percentage points (28% to 35%) in less than a week. The margin of error is two points.
But second-round simulations still show Bolsonaro technically tied with Haddad and Geraldo Alckmin (PSDB) and losing to Ciro Gomes (PDT), who currently holds 13% of the valid votes in the first round.
Also, voters' rejection of the frontrunner is still 45%, while 40% would not vote for Haddad in any way.
