Centrists and Bolsonaro Supporters Will Face off in 2022 Elections
In search of reelection, Bolsonaro must have double and even triple platforms in the states and in brotherly disputes in his allied base
Salvador
The expansion of President Jair Bolsonaro's allied base (no party) could create a scenario of double and even triple platforms in his support in the states in next year's election.
On the one hand, the so-called roots bolsonarism - the one that ascended with him in 2018 - fights to maintain its leadership with the president and seeks higher positions in 2022. On the other hand, Bolsonaro's new allies, especially from the center, are also targeting government positions statewide.
The scenario of multiple platforms should be consolidated in states in the North and South regions of the country, where the president has a more faithful electorate, consolidating a fratricidal dispute within the allied base.
