Presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro's son is the most voted ever in the state

Brasília

Among the candidates elected to become the state of São Paulo's representatives in the Lower House in Brasília, there is an Army general, a clown, an actual prince, and a porn star. They will start their four-year terms next February.

Last December,  former clown Tiririca (PR) said he wasn't going to run for reelection, saying he was "disappointed with politics", but changed his mind and kept his Legislative seat.

He had more than enough votes to be reelected (445,000), ranking fifth most voted, but more than half the votes he gained in 2014 (one million).

Alexandre Frota (PSL), a porn actor, joined Jair Bolsonaro's followers and received 152,000 votes. He is known for getting involved in controversies. In 2015, he spoke in favor of rape in a TV talk show, when he described having intercourse with an unconscious woman.

He was considered to be Bolsonaro's running mate, but Luiz Phillipe de Orleans e Bragança (PSL), a descendant from the Brazilian royal family, ended up running for the Lower House instead and won a seat, with 116,000 votes.

Known as "prince", he is the descendant of Princess Isabel, Dom Pedro 2nd and the Portuguese king Dom João 6th.

Another elected representative for São Paulo, also from Bolsonaro's party PSL, is Army general Sebastião Peternelli. He had 73,000 votes.

In March 2016, he wrote a social media post praising the 1964 military coup: "52 years since Brazil was rid of the damn communism. Cheers for our brave servicemen! Brazil will never be communist," says the post, which was shared by 750 people.
