The President of ICMBio (Chico Mendes Institute of Conservation of Biodiversity), Adalberto Eberhard, resigned this Monday (15).
On Saturday (13), Eberhard participated in a Rio Grande Sul event in which the minister of Environment, Ricardo Salles, publicly threatened to investigate ICMBio agents for their absence.
In the filmed event, attended mainly by ruralists, Salles threatened to process ICMBio agents for not appearing at the event. But the problem is that the workers were not invited to the event.
“For personal motives, I am asking to be exonerated as President of this institution. I thank you for the opportunity and all the confidence you had in me,” wrote Eberhard, in a message to Salles.
On social media, the minister thank Eberhard for his work, “especially for the manner in which he approached the challenges of this restructuring process.”
