Police from Mato Grosso do Sul and Paraguay on Monday (20) recaptured 2 of the 75 prisoners, many of them allegedly members of the PCC (First Command of the Capital), who escaped from the prison of Pedro Juan Caballero, on the border of Paraguay with the Brazil, on Sunday (19).

The Military Police of Ponta Porã, a city on the border with Pedro Juan Caballero, arrested a Brazilian who at first identified himself as Eduardo Alves da Cunha, 30. However, he carried illegal documents and was convicted under a false name in Paraguay.

His real name is Luis Alves da Cruz, 30, born in Joselândia, Maranhão, and raised in Imperatriz. He claimed to have been baptized by the PCC while serving time for drug trafficking in the Pedro Juan Caballero prison, where he had been since 2016.

The other recaptured prisoner was located in Paraguay, by the National Police of the neighboring country. According to an official note on the government website, he is called Sabio Darío González Figueredo has Paraguayan nationality and was spotted while trying to hide in a house on the outskirts of Pedro Juan Caballero, just 200 meters from the prison from which he escaped.
