Brazil's Federal Police named Carlos Bolsonaro, son of President Jair Bolsonaro, as an organizer of a criminal scheme that spread fake news. The Supreme Court conducted the investigation.

Igor Romário de Paula, one of the four delegates in the investigation, also coordinated the Car Wash operation in Curitiba when Sergio Moro, now a former Minister of Justice, was the operation's judge.

Maurício Valeixo, the federal police director dismissed by Bolsonaro, was superintendent of the police in Paraná during the same period and was appointed by Moro to command the police.

There is no doubt that Bolsonaro forced Valeixo out because of the growing evidence that his son, a councilman in Rio de Janeiro, took part in the criminal scheme.

Pushing Valeixo out could have helped the president to obtain information about the Supreme Court's investigation or change the group of delegates responsible for the case.

Thus, on Friday (24), shortly after publicly announcing his resignation by the Ministry of Justice, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the inquiry at the Supreme Court, said that the Federal Police would keep the same delegates in the case.

Justice Dias Toffoli, the president of the Supreme Court, opened the inquiry in March to investigate false news against the Justices.

Carlos is being investigated on suspicion of being one of the leaders of the group that assembles fake news and to intimidate and threaten public authorities on the Internet.
