In Addition to an Official Letter to Fiocruz, STF Asked Butantan to Reserve Coronavac for 7,000 People

The Court President said that he was unaware of the demands, and the plaintiff claimed that superiors were aware of the official request

Brasília

The STF (Supreme Federal Court) asked the Butantan, Coronavac, to reserve 7,000 doses of the vaccine against Covid-19 for its employees, just as it did for the vaccine produced by Fiocruz.

When contacted, STF and Butantan did not respond to Folha's request. According to the data raised for the article, the institute did not respond to the Supreme Court. Fiocruz, on the other hand, had already communicated the denial of the court's request.

STF President Luiz Fux ordered the dismissal of the Secretary of Integrated Health Services of the Court, Marco Polo Dias Freitas, who, according to him, was the author of the request made to Fiocruz. According to Fux, the request was made without his knowledge.

On the last 23, however, Fux had defended the measure, in an interview with TV Justiça.

To Folha, this Tuesday (29), Marco Polo Dias Freitas stated that he never performed any act without the knowledge of his superiors.
