President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) said on Monday (8) that the decision of Minister Edson Fachin to annul the convictions of former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is not strange because the magistrate "always had a strong connection with the PT."
"Minister Fachin has always had a strong connection with the PT, so we are not surprised by a decision in this manner. Obviously it is a single decision that will have to be passed by the entire court," said Bolsonaro as he arrived at the Palácio da Alvorada.
On Monday, Fachin, of the STF, granted habeas corpus to declare the incompetence of the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba to judge four cases involving Lula - that of the triplex, that of the Atibaia site, that of a land and the donations for the Lula Institute.. The former president has therefore recovered his political rights and can run for president in 2022.
