Even though Brazil is facing the worst moment of the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil, cardiologist Marcelo Queiroga only was appointed and installed as Minister of Health today. This is 8 days after President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) announced him as successor to General Eduardo Pazuello.
In Paraíba, Queiroga's home state, officials said they had not yet received an invitation to the event.
The ceremony, which has already been postponed twice - was supposed to take place last Thursday (18), then was rescheduled for this Tuesday (23). However, this depended on the resolution of two problems.
Queiroga must resign from a clinic in which he is a business partner.
According to people close to him, the doctor spent the weekend looking at the matter, trying to resolve it.
Law 8,112, of 1990, says that public servants are prohibited from participating in a private company's management or administration.
Also, the government has not yet managed to define where Pazuello will go when he leaves the ministry of Health.
