Bolsonaro Says He's Not Worried about The Investigation into His Management of The Pandemic

Without mentioning the number of deaths, the president said that 'there has been a huge number of deaths now here'

Brasília

On the day that Brazil exceeded 400,000 deaths by Covid-19, President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) said he did not fear the pandemic investigation in the Senate and that he was working "at full throttle."

In his weekly live, the president on Thursday (29) quickly mentioned "a huge number of deaths."

"We lament the deaths, there have been a huge number of deaths here, right?," he said during the broadcast.

About four minutes later, he mentioned the arrival of oxygen trucks and then spoke about the parliamentary inquiry commission that launched in the Senate last Tuesday (27).

"We are still working at full speed. We are not concerned with this CPI. We are not concerned," said Bolsonaro.

The Senate, in turn, held a minute's silence this afternoon to honor the more than 400,000 dead.
