President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) asked Senator Jorge Kajuru (Citizenship-GO) to expand the investigation into the management of the pandemic to include mayors and governors. The conversation was recorded and published by the congressman on social networks.
Bolsonaro said that if senators do not change the scope of the investigation, expanding it to the actions of regional governments as well, only the Federal Government and its allies will be investigated. According to him, they will hear "only our people" to produce a "dirty report."
"If the amplitude does not change, the CPI will simply listen to Pazuello, listen to our people, to make a dirty report. You have to make the lemon a lemonade. For now, it is a lemon that is there. It can be a lemonade," he told the senator.
"The CPI today will investigate President Jair Bolsonaro's omissions, full stop. What has to happen for CPI to be really useful for Brazil? Change its breadth. Investigate governors and mayors. President of the republic, governors and mayors," he stated.
