President Jair Bolsonaro awarded his wife, Michelle Bolsonaro, the Oswaldo Cruz Medal of Merit in the gold category.
According to the decree published on Wednesday (28), the award is in recognition of performance in the field of scientific, educational, cultural and administrative activities, highlighted by the beneficial results for the health of Brazilians.
Ministers who were also decorated include Milton Ribeiro (Education), Fabio Faria (Communications), Gilson Machado (Tourism), Carlos Alberto França (Foreign Affairs), João Roma (Citizenship), Luiz Eduardo Ramos (Casa Civil), Paulo Guedes (Economy), Rogério Marinho (Regional Development), Tarcisio Freitas (Infrastructure), Tereza Cristina (Agriculture, Livestock and Supply) and Walter Braga Netto (Defense).
While leaders of Congress, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), and of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (DEM-MG), also received the honor.
Bolsonaro awarded the Order of Medical Merit medal to surgeons Antônio Macedo, from Hospital Albert Einstein, and Luiz Henrique Silva Borsato, from Santa Casa de Misericórdia in Juiz de Fora.
