Protests across The Country Call for Bolsonaro's Impeachment

With greater concentration in São Paulo, demonstrators protested against suspicions of corruption in the purchase of vaccines

For the third time since May 29, protesters took to the streets of the country this Saturday (3) to call for the impeachment of President Jair Bolsonaro.

In addition to criticizing the management of the pandemic, protestors also highlighted suspected corruption in negotiations for the purchase of vaccines.

In the streets, there were images of dollar bills with blood and effigies of Bolsonaro.

There were protests in the 27 capitals, but also in several medium-sized cities in the interior, where Bolsonaro generally has greater support.

The demonstration was more concentrated in São Paulo, which had the largest demonstration. In the end, there was a confrontation between police and some vandals who attacked banks. The State Public Security Secretariat estimated that 5,500 people attended the protest on Paulista avenue.

In addition to allegations of corruption, evidenced by the Senate pandemic investigation and by an inquiry into whether Bolsonaro had committed a prevarication, a super request for impeachment reached Congress.
