Supreme Court Ignores Investigation Requests Against Bolsonaro for Sept. 7 Demonstrations

Cases were sent to court shortly after demonstrations, but there has been no progress yet

Brasília

The Supreme Court has not responded to requests for President Jair Bolsonaro to be investigated for the Sept. 7 coup speeches.

More than two weeks have passed since the demonstrations in Brasília and São Paulo without the court responding to the requests of the Planalto Palace opponents.

This is happening in the wake of the so-called Declaration to the Nation, a note in which Bolsonaro stated—two days after the demonstration—that he had "no intention of attacking any of the Powers."

Also of interest to the president, the Supreme Court has postponed in recent weeks the trial of a process that discusses whether senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Patriota-RJ) has the right to a special forum in his finance corruption case.
