Balneario Camboriú (SC) Debute Its Widened Beach

Mega Construction Project expanded the beach width from 25 m to 75 m and took almost four months

The City of Balneário Camboriú (SC) debuted this Saturday (4) a new widened strip of sand on Central beach. The date marks the beginning of the summer season for bathers.

The festivities included a program with sports competitions, artistic presentations and educational activities. The attractions took place in a structure set up on the sands of the new beach, at the height of Almirante Tamandaré square.

With the changes, the shore of Balneário Camboriú became the second largest strip of sand in Brazil, only behind Copacabana beach, in Rio de Janeiro.

Inspired by the city of Santa Catarina, other resorts will also have their stretches of sand extended, such as the cities of Matinhos, on the southern coast of Paraná, and Guarapari, in Espírito Santo.
