Bolsonaro Says Justice Goes Too Far by Targeting Michelle

President accuses Justice Alexandre Moraes of leaking the Federal Police inquiry into transactions mentioned by an assistant involving the First Lady

President Jair Bolsonaro once again attacked Justice Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court, this time for having authorized the breach of bank secrecy of an advisor to investigate transactions related to the first lady, Michelle.

The onslaught has taken place after Folha revealed that the Federal Police is investigating a presidential aide. Bolsonaro attributes the leak to Moraes.

The Federal Police has found elements on the phone of Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cesar Barbosa Cid, assistant to the Chief Executive, that raised suspicion regarding financial transactions carried out in the president's office to pay bills for the presidential family and people close to Michelle.

The police are investigating whether public money has been used. There is, for the moment, no accusation.

"Alexandre, messing with me is one thing, you messing with my wife has crossed all limits," Bolsonaro said. "Are you going to one day use your pen to arrest me?", he asked.

The Chief Executive says that the amount adds up to R$12,000 and covers Michelle's expenses, such as manicures. According to the Government's office, the money comes from Bolsonaro's personal account.
