About a hundred Bolsonarist supporters were waiting for Jefferson to leave. The shouts were directed at Moraes. Things like "We came here to collect. Immoral Alexandre will not shut us up" and "Freedom". The arrest warrant was motivated by the verbal attacks that the far-right politician, an ally of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), launched against Justice Cármen Lúcia, of the Supreme Federal Court, the day before.

During the morning, he reacted to the police approach and fired shots. According to an investigation by the Federal Police, the former deputy fired more than twenty rifle shots and also threw a grenade in the direction of the agents. Two policemen were injured, hit by shrapnel. They received medical attention and were released.
