A 13-year-old teenager stabbed a 71-year-old teacher to death this Monday morning (27), at the Thomazia Montoro state school, in Vila Sônia, west of São Paulo. Elisabeth Tenreiro was a science teacher and was stabbed multiple times in the back. The attacker also injured two students and three other teachers. The teenager, who is a student in the 8th grade at the school, was apprehended.
According to the police, he announced the attack on social media, where he wrote that he had been waiting for this moment his "whole life". He further said that he hoped to kill at least one person. One of the injured teachers, Ana Célia Rosa, was still hospitalized in a state of observation this Monday afternoon. She had undergone surgery and was stable. Teachers Jane Gasperini and Rita de Cássia Reis and the injured students were rescued and discharged.
Security cameras recorded the moment of the two attacks. The teenage boy wore a skull mask, ran into the classroom, and went straight into Elisabeth's direction, who was standing. The teacher, who did not notice the boy's approach, was violently stabbed several times in the back and fell to the floor. In desperation, the students tried to leave the classroom, and some were also attacked by the attacker.
A second video shows the teenage boy stabbing another female teacher. He stabs the woman, who is standing and trying to protect herself with her arms, several times. Two women enter the room, and one of them manages to immobilize the teenager, while the other removes the knife from his hands.
The offending student was new to the school. He had been transferred there in early March, after an employee from the previous school registered a police report against him alleging aggressive behavior by the student, who had been "posting compromising videos, for example, carrying a firearm and simulating violent attacks".
