With tickets of up to R$ 700 (US$ 135), private parties have been allowed by the city of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Belo Horizonte.
Faced with the advance of the omicron, they decided to veto private events capitals such as Recife, Natal, Cuiabá, Porto Velho and Macapá.
In the city of Rio, the street Carnival has been canceled, and the samba school parade in Sapucaí has been postponed. But a quick search on ticket purchase websites reveal a variety of private parties organized to celebrate the revelry.
The Carnival of the Arts, the Great Masquerade Ball and Carnarildy are just some of these events, which in certain cases charge tickets over R$700 and will feature concerts by the likes of Anitta, Ludmilla and Luan Santana.
There are higher prices for private event boxes in other cities. In Ubatuba, on the coast of São Paulo, the Carnival box at Cafe de La Musique for six people costs up to R$3,000 (US$ 577) .
