SP-Arte returns with works worth over $2.4 million and stands worth $35.000

Openings, parties and get-togethers are popping up across the city, and gallery owners are also investing heavily in response to a market that seems excited to spend

São Paulo

The first in-person SP-Arte since the beginning of the pandemic, last year, was marked by an atmosphere of euphoria. After all, it was the gallerists' return to the stands, with the expectation of selling, and well.

But the 2021 edition ended up looking like a warm-up for the 2022 event. Now, yes, it looks like the real return of sales.

This atmosphere is not just due to the return of the fair to the Bienal Pavilion, in Ibirapuera, after a reduced edition at Arca.

Openings, parties and get-togethers are popping up across the city, and gallery owners are also investing heavily in response to a market that seems excited to spend.

The commercial excitement appears, for example, in the stand project by Gomide&Co, which invested in its largest stand at SP-Arte to date, measuring 90 square meters and costing more than $35.000. His most expensive work is a Miró, valued at R$2.4 million.

Almeida e Dale also presents works in this figure, from $2.4 million to $3 million.
