Until Monday night (23), the official numbers indicated that eight states registered cases only in their capitals: Alagoas, Amazonas, Acre, Amapá, Maranhão, Piauí, Roraima, and Tocantins.

The survey was carried out by Folha based on data from the collaborative platform Brasil.IO and numbers from the state health departments.

São Paulo, the state with the highest number of people infected with the coronavirus, last released the updated chart of records by municipality last Friday (20), when it counted 396 sick people in 20 cities (90% of diagnoses occurred in the capital).

This Tuesday (24), there were already 810 infected, with 40 deaths. Across the country, there are already more than 2,200 people sick and 46 dead.
