Brazil recorded 105 new deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health released on Monday (13). Altogether, there are 1,328 deaths.

Both on Saturday and Sunday, the number of new daily deaths was below one hundred. The Ministry of Health itself clarifies that the data collected during the weekends tend to be inaccurate since health teams in the states work in small numbers.

The portfolio's balance also points to 23,430 confirmed cases of the disease, an increase of 6% in one day. Last week, the country surpassed the 20,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19.

São Paulo, the most populous state in the country, remains the leader in the number of registered cases, with 8,895 confirmations. The state also has the highest number of deaths due to the new coronavirus: 608.

Regarding confirmed cases, they appear in the sequence Rio de Janeiro, with 3,231 cases; Ceará, with 1,800; Amazonas, with 1275; and Pernambuco, with 1,154.

The state of Tocantins remains the only one without registering deaths due to the novel coronavirus.

Currently, five states (Amazonas, Amapá, Ceará, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro) and the Federal District have an incidence of 50% above the national average, which is 111 cases per 1 million inhabitants. Above this parameter, the situation is considered "emergency."
