The state of São Paulo surpassed the mark of 1,000 novel coronavirus deaths, 32 days after the first confirmation of a death from the disease in the country. This Sunday (19), SP reached the mark of 1,015 victims of Covid-19.

According to the State Health Department, there are 93 cities with at least one death, with the most in Greater São Paulo. The capital of São Paulo counts 700 victims, followed by Guarulhos (28), Osasco (27), São Bernardo do Campo (20), and Santo André (12).

Still, according to the ministry of health, this Sunday (19), there are 5,600 people with suspected covid-19 or confirmed cases of illness in hospitals. Of these, 3,297 in nursing beds and 2,345 in ICU beds.

The number of confirmed cases of the disease reached 14,267, distributed in 228 cities in the state.

The secretariat also reported on the profiles of the diseases caused: there are 599 men and 416 women. Deaths are concentrated in patients aged 60 or over, accounting for 78.7% of deaths.

Mortality is higher between 70 and 79 years (269 of the total), followed by 60-69 years (225) and 80-99 (218). According to the folder, 87 people over the age of 90 also died.
