Seventy days after the first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus, Brazil has recorded 107,780 cases of the disease and 7,321 deaths, according to data from the Ministry of Health. There have bee 6,633 new confirmed cases and 296 new deaths since Sunday (3).

The government released data in the afternoon that reflected lower numbers: 105,222 cases of the disease and 7,288 deaths in total, and 4,075 new cases and 263 new deaths in the last 24 hours.

At night, however, the ministry announced the new numbers. It said that starting this Monday (4), the information on cases and deaths by Covid-19 will be updated on two occasions: at 3:00 pm, with preliminary data by state, and at 19h, with final data.

Even so, the number of 296 new deaths is below the total registered in the previous week, when the daily average of confirmed deaths was above 400. In general, the Ministry of Health expects a drop on Saturdays and Sundays and the first days each week.

In addition, the real numbers are expected to be higher, given the low supply of tests in the country and the occurrence of underreporting.
