Health Minister Nelson Teich has resigned, according to the ministry of health. A press conference will be scheduled this afternoon, according to the Ministry of Health.
After less than a month in office, Teich was already seeing his power underhanded by President Jair Bolsonaro.
On Monday, the press informed Teich of the president's decision to increase the list of essential activities to include beauty salons, gyms, and barbershops.
He was surprised. Bolsonaro also pressured Teich to expand chloroquine use for patients with mild Covid-19, despite the lack of scientific evidence supporting its use.
