Brazil recorded 1,209 new deaths by Covid-19 and 31,475 new cases this Wednesday (17). The country already has 46,665 deaths from the disease and 960,309 cases.

The data on deaths and cases of Covid-19 is the result of an unprecedented collaboration between Folha, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo, G1, and UOL to gather and report numbers on the new coronavirus, which are collected directly with the Secretariats Health. The balance is closed daily at 8 pm.

São Paulo broke the record for deaths for the second consecutive day, with 389 registered deaths and 1,232 new cases.
