Brazil Records More than 1,300 Deaths from Coronavirus in 24 hours, New Record

Country has more than 32,000 deaths and more than 580 million cases of disease

Brazil recorded a new daily record of deaths, with 1,349 deaths and 28,633 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health. Altogether, there are 32,548 deaths and 584,016 confirmed cases in the country so far.

On Tuesday (2), Brazil had registered 1,262 new deaths and exceeded the tetrical mark of 30 thousand deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Ministry of Health did not comment on the new figures. The ministry canceled a Wednesday interview with the technical team. The team planned to present the Covid-19 epidemic's epidemiological profile.

The Executive Director of WHO, Michael Ryan, said on Wednesday (3) that the community transmission of coronavirus remains intense in Brazil and that the country is one of those of concern to WHO, alongside Haiti, Nicaragua, and Peru.

The state of São Paulo recorded on Wednesday 8,276 deaths and 123,483 cases confirmed by the novel coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic. Among people diagnosed with Covid-19, 23,000 were hospitalized, cured, and discharged.
