Brazil Records 1,189 New Deaths and Has already Accumulated over 91 Thousand Deaths by Covid-19

Country maintains a high number of infections, 56,992, and totals 2.6 million cases

Brazil recorded 1,189 new deaths by Covid-19 and 56,992 cases of the disease, this Thursday (30). With that, the country already counts 91,377 deaths and 2,613,789 infections by the new coronavirus.

The data comes from an unprecedented collaboration between the news media Folha, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disclose the numbers related to the pandemic of the new coronavirus.

Brazil has a rate of about 43.6 dead per 100 thousand inhabitants. The United States, which has the highest absolute number of deaths, and the United Kingdom, both ahead of Brazil in the pandemic (that is, they started to suffer from the problem before), have 46.4 and 69.3 deaths for every 100 thousand inhabitants, respectively.

In Argentina, where the pandemic landed nine days later than in Brazil and which followed a much stricter quarantine, the rate is 7.4 deaths per 100 thousand inhabitants.
