Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) employees released an open letter in defense of the agency, which is in the middle of a political dispute caused by the race to obtain vaccines against Covid-19.
In the letter, employees reaffirm "the technical and independent nature of the work and activities carried out by the agency's employees in promoting and protecting the population's health."
They say they are used to delicate situations, but they assure that "the technical work is above any pressure".
"Throughout its 20 years of existence, the agency has consolidated itself as a reference in the health sector precisely because of the work developed by its employees, which has resulted in the recognized excellence of its regulatory performance and the credibility of its actions and decisions, based exclusively in technical and scientific criteria," says the document, which has the seal of Univisa, an entity that represents civil servants.
