Coronavac, the vaccine that is the bet of Governor João Doria (PSDB-SP) in the fight against Covid-19 and a political asset against his rival Jair Bolsonaro, had an efficiency of 78% to 100% declared in the final studies carried out in Brazil.

The result was anticipated by Folha on the morning of Thursday (7). The 78% rate applies to the prevention of mild cases of the disease. Among the vaccinated volunteers who were contaminated, there was no moderate, severe case, death, or necessary hospitalization.

"We got the vaccine from Brazil, which will save millions of Brazilians. We have the vaccine on Brazilian ground, ready to start vaccination," said the right-wing governor.

The data were presented to Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) in a meeting this Thursday morning (7) when the Butantan Institute started the negotiations to formalize the request for the emergency use of the immunizer that it will produce.
