More than 685 Thousand People in Brazil Have already Received the 1st Dose of The Vaccine against Covid-19

Brazil is using the CoronaVac vaccines, from Butantan, and the Oxford vaccine in partnership with Fiocruz

Brazil has inoculated 685,201 people with the first dose of the vaccine against Covid-19, according to data compiled by the consortium of press outlets.

On Monday alone (25), 14 states and the Federal District administered 104,395 doses of the vaccine.

The country is giving Coronavac, a Butantan vaccine in partnership with the pharmaceutical company Sinovac, and the vaccine from Fiocruz, developed with the University of Oxford and AstraZeneca. Two million doses of AstraZeneca arrived in the country last Friday (22).

The number of vaccinated people to date represents 0.43% of the population over 18 years of age.

The consortium was formed in June 2020 in response to the Jair Bolsonaro government's decision to restrict access to data on the Covid-19 pandemic. The outlets then decided to form a partnership and work collaboratively to seek the necessary information in the 26 states and the Federal District.
