With 1,582 Deaths by Covid-19 in 24 Hours, Brazil Breaks Record of Deaths in The Pandemic

Seven of the ten days with the most deaths in the country occurred in 2021; day also registered a record moving average of deaths

One year after the first Covid-19 case, Brazil recorded the highest number of deaths from the disease in 24 hours in the entire pandemic. This Thursday (25), 1,582 deaths of Brazilians were recorded by Covid. With the spread of the disease in several places, the data indicate that the country is experiencing the pandemic's worst moment.

The previous record of deaths (1,554) had occurred on July 29 of last year, followed by June 4, with 1,470 deaths. The ranking, however, has already been dominated in 2021. Seven of the ten days with the most deaths in the pandemic occurred in 2021.

With the deaths recorded on Thursday, the country reached 251,661 total deaths.

The moving average of deaths by Covid was a record for the second consecutive day. This Thursday, the figure reached 1,150, with a 7% growth compared to the figure of 14 days ago.
