After a Year and 300 Thousand Deaths, Bolsonaro Announces Anti-Covid Committee, Defends Vaccination and Preaches Early Treatment

According to the president, the group, which will bring together the federal government, governors and the Federal Senate, will coordinate anti-Covid actions

President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) announced on Wednesday (24) the creation of a committee to coordinate actions to combat the pandemic.

He said that the committee, created a year after the pandemic began and when the country is approaching 300,000 deaths, will bring together the federal government, governors, and the Senate.

"Life comes first. We have resolved, among other things, that coordination with governors will be created with the president of the Federal Senate," said the president.

"For our part, a committee will meet every week with authorities to decide or redirect the course of the fight against the coronavirus," he said.

According to governors, the idea of creating the group came from the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (DEM-MG), and not from Bolsonaro during the meeting this Wednesday morning that was attended by the summit of the judicial, legislative and executive branches.
