'I Didn't Make any Mistakes', Says Bolsonaro while Insisting on Early Treatment and Criticizing Isolation

President also said he only buys vaccine after approval by Anvisa, which did not happen with the immunizers currently used in Brazil

Brasília

In a conversation with supporters at the Palácio da Alvorada on Monday morning (1st), President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) said he was never wrong during the Covid-19 pandemic in defending the ineffective early treatment. He also criticized restrictive measures and said that you can only buy vaccines after approval by Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency), despite not having done so with the vaccines currently used in Brazil.

"Sorry, guys, I'm not going to talk about myself, but I haven't made any mistakes since March last year. And you don't have to be smart to understand that. You have to have a minimum of character. Now only those who don't have the character will say the opposite," said Bolsonaro in a conversation recorded and transmitted via an internet channel that is sympathetic to the president.

In the dialogue, Bolsonaro returned to advocate early treatment, stating that "it is the doctor's right to work off label," an expression that he has used throughout the pandemic to defend the use of drugs that have not been proven effective against Covid-19.
