Brazil Records 1,233 Covid Deaths in 24 Hours and Has The Worst Week of The Pandemic with More than 19 Thousand Deaths

On Sundays, Mondays and holidays, numbers are usually lower due to notification delays

On Sunday (4), Brazil registered 1,233 deaths from Covid and 30,939 cases of the disease. The drop in numbers is expected for a holiday weekend. During the holidays Covid data in the country are usually smaller due to delays in notification to the health departments. Even with the reduced data, the country had the worst week of the pandemic, with 19,231 dead, from Monday, March 29, until this Sunday.

The country has reached 331,530 deaths from Covid and 12,983,560 people infected since the beginning of the pandemic.

There have been four consecutive weeks of weekly death records. Before the current one, the worst week had been the previous week (from 22 to 28 March), with 18,184 deaths. The week before that (March 15-21) had also been the worst, with 15,788 deaths.
