Brazil Surpasses 100 Million Doses of Vaccines Administered against Covid

The fully immunized population, is about 16% of those over 18 years of age

São Paulo

Brazil surpassed the mark of 100 million doses of vaccines administered against Covid on Thursday (1). So far there are 74.5 million people with the first dose and 25.9 million with the second, in addition to 636,000 with the single dose.

Proportionately, only 16.52% of the population over 18 years of age is fully immunized.

The country more than doubled the number of vaccines applied in June compared to May.

Last month, about 28.4 million received at least one dose, compared to 14 million the previous month.

Some of the reasons for the acceleration in vaccination are the availability of vaccines and the type of immunization offered. In June, around 1.5 million doses of Janssen were given for the first time, a vaccine that does not require a booster.
