São Paulo Approaches 99% of Adults with The First Dose of Covid-19 Vaccine

São Paulo's Virada da Vacina, in which more than 500 thousand people received vaccines at health centers, ended Sunday (15) with close to 99% of adults having taken at least the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

In the state, 91.15% of adults have at least the first dose. The goal of Governor João Doria (PSDB) is to start the vaccination of adolescents this Wednesday (18th) . This Tuesday (17th), a new phase of flexibility of distance measures begins in the state, in which commerce and services will be able to operate without occupancy or time restrictions and events can happen again, as long as there is a distance of one meter between people and use of masks, among other rules.

During the event, the capital broke a record of daily vaccine applications. On Saturday there were 268,770 doses administered, with 215,029 being first doses and 53,734 second doses.

For the event, around 600 locations around the city applied doses of vaccines against Covid-19, with 16 of them working at night or until dawn.
