Senate Pandemic Inquiry Produces 8 Government Investigations

Lawsuits from government bodies such as TCU, PF and Anvisa were opened or made use of elements with the advances of the Covid commission

The investigation carried out by the Senate Covid inquiry (CPI) has already fed evidence or caused the opening of at least eight investigations. This is even before the conclusion and sharing of the final report, whose vote is scheduled for the next 20th. The report by senator Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL) will list those responsible for crimes in the pandemic, suggest indictments and deepen investigations, and will be forwarded to the bodies responsible for investigating and asking for punishment in the courts, in Congress and in the administrative spheres. President Jair Bolsonaro will be one of those responsible in the senator's report.

The findings made by the CPI, however, have already reverberated in different processes. The commission advanced on different fronts, accumulated a significant volume of documents and managed to materialize evidence of crimes, omissions and irregularities in the fight against the pandemic. This led to the use of part of this material by the control bodies.
