A gala dinner honoring president Jair Bolsonaro in New York has already sold out its most expensive sections. Tickets for a full table of ten had a price tag of up to US$ 30,000 (R$ 111,000).

The dinner is organized by the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce, and it will be held at the American Museum of National History on May 14th. The organization chose president Bolsonaro as 2019's Person of the Year, but he has not confirmed if he will attend the gala.

The most expensive tables, ranging from US$ 30,000 (R$ 111,000) to US$ 20,000 (R$ 74,000) are sold out. There are still cheaper tables, and individual tickets and chamber members have discounts in almost all sections.

The chamber has had the Person of the Year award for 49 years, and it honors two leaders, one from Brazil and another from the United States, in their efforts to bring the two countries closer in the previous year.

In 2018, the award went to Sergio Moro, current Justice Minister, and Michael Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York.
